Major Adrian N. Forteza is the Special Trial Counsel Team Lead for MCAGCC Twentynine Palms. In that capacity, he serves as the officer-in-charge of the MCAGCC Twentynine Palms Installation Office of Special Trial Counsel. Major Forteza served as a Trial Counsel at MCRD San Diego and MCAS Miramar from 2015-2018. Major Forteza then went on to serve as the Operations and Executive Officer for the Marine Corps Embassy Security Group in Johannesburg, South Africa, from 2018-2021. He was then selected for a Commandant’s Fellowship as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in Washington, DC, working in the Domestic Violence section from 2021 – 2022. In 2023, Major Forteza earned his LL.M. in Military Law, with a Concentration in Criminal Law, from The Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School in Charlottesville, Virginia. Major Forteza is a graduate of Florida State University (BS and MS) and the University of Notre Dame School of Law (JD). He is licensed to practice law in the state of Colorado. His personal awards and decorations include the Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal (second award), the Army Commendation Medal, and the Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal. He graduated from the Expeditionary Warfare School Distance Education Program and the Command and Staff College Distance Education Program.
